Fantastic via ferrata along the Masar ridge in the south of the Rosengarten massif.

The Masar via ferrata is one of the most beautiful ridge via ferratas in the Dolomites. The entertaining tour leads along numerous ridges, past crevasses and jagged rocks through the southern Catinaccio. The route is not particularly difficult from a technical point of view, but this is to the advantage of the climber, who now has more time to admire the impressive landscape with the surrounding peaks and valleys.

Signs from the Paoline refuge not so clear. You have to go first to Roda Diavel 40min. Then you’ll find a sign to Ferrata Majaré. From then pretty steep 30-40min walk up to the face of the mountain. Ferrata itself takes aprx 2hrs. Very featuresk rock, makes it possible almost not to grab the cable 👍🏻 Views are amazing! Interesting moves and narrow passages. Enjoyed it a lot! After ferrata, descent 30min through rock garden, back to the same Roda Diavel refuge.

Am 22.09.2019 die Paolina-Hütte wegen angeblicher Sperrung. Auskunft vom 23.09.2019: der Masare-Steig ist seit Beginn der Sommersaison wieder uneingeschränkt begehbar.
